Adrien de Bassompierre

Senior Carbon Finance Specialist, World Bank

Adrien de Bassompierre is a Senior Carbon Finance Specialist at the Climate Policy and Finance Department of the World Bank. He is a member of the Secretariat of the Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR), a grant-based, global partnership of developed and developing countries that provides funding and technical assistance for the collective innovation and piloting of market-based instruments for GHG emissions reduction. In addition, Adrien manages a portfolio of over 10 CDM projects and programs in the Middle East and Africa. Adrien has been with the Carbon Finance Unit of the World Bank since 2007, and working on climate change for more than 12 years. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Adrien was in the private sector, working as a project manager and an advisor for European environmental affairs, including on the EU emissions trading system.

Adrien received a B.Sc. in Business Administration and Economics and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Namur, Belgium, and an M.A. in International Energy and Environmental Policy from the Johns Hopkins University.
