JP Brisson

Jean-Philippe Brisson, a leading environmental lawyer, advises oil and gas, industrial and financial institution clients on a wide range of energy and environmental matters, including carbon finance, renewable energy and commodities.

JP Brisson is a partner in Latham’s Environmental, Land and Resources Department and Co-Chair of its Air Quality and Climate Change Practice. He has more than fifteen years of experience advising clients on energy, commodities and climate policy issues, and is ranked by Chambers USA and Chamber Global for his work in this area. He is a recipient of a 2012 Burton Award for Legal Achievement and a registered lobbyist in California where he represents a number of clients in proceeding before the Air Resources Board.

JP was previously Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Global Commodities business where he helped establish Goldman’s US carbon trading desk and worked on a number of private equity transactions. Over his career, he has diligenced, negotiated, structured and drafted more than 100 environmental commodities transactions.
